So, how long have you worked at JAH?
6 years in March – I’ve known Jamie since Primary School! I used to give him grief at school! In those days, he was taller than me… how things have changed!
What do you do at JAH?
I’m an Electrician – as you might expect! I work mainly on domestic projects, as well as some commercial projects, which is great. We get a lot of repeat work, so I get to see the same customers time and again, as well as meeting lots of new people.
What’s the best things about working at JAH?
Definitely the people, the lads and the management (well, I have to say that, don’t I?!) Seriously, it’s great to feel part of a group, and after work on Friday we go out for a beer together. Can’t be bad!
If you had to choose one project or job that you are most proud of, what would it be?Definitely the project at the Glazebrook House Hotel. It was my first experience of running a big job for Jamie. Deadlines were tight, and we were working with other external teams of electricians and builders, needing to get a high quality job completed on time. I am very glad and proud to say we achieved it.
If someone was thinking of coming to work at JAH, what would you say to them?
Do it! When people come to work at JAH, they stay.
And, if you weren’t such a fantastic electrician, what would you have been – any childhood dreams?
Much as I love my job – it was Plan C! When I was growing up I always wanted to be a Fireman, but I broke my ankle – that scuppered that. And, another dream was to join the Navy, to follow in my Grandad’s footsteps – but after a 1 month trip to the US, I was really homesick. So – now I have the perfect job!
What are the 2 things on the top of your Bucket List?
Firstly, to be mortgage-free, and secondly to take the kids to Florida – maybe paying off the mortgage will have to wait!
What is the one food or drink you can’t live without?
Well, I love a good steak – but anyone who knows me knows that I can’t live without…Percy Pigs!!
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Definitely – being able to become invisible, so I could disappear when Jamie calls! Or splitting myself into 4 when we are really busy!!
Do you have time for any hobbies?
With 5 kids, my main hobby is being a Taxi Driver! But I also really enjoy DIY, and my current project is a loft conversion – I just need to finish the staircase. I love doing anything “hands on”, and Design & Tech was my best subject at school.
And, finally, what’s the worst thing Jamie has ever asked you to do?
Well, much to Jamie’s disgust, I am a big Liverpool supporter! And in my first year at JAH, Jamie made me go with him up to Old Trafford to watch Man U beat Leicester!! Torture!
