2018 has been quite a year for Jamie, Angie and their incredible team at JAH. During the year, JAH completed a full re-brand of their business, including their logo, business stationery, uniforms and vehicles – you may have seen them! And they launched their new mobile-friendly website, as well as updating their social media pages to keep clients, customers and partners up to date on news and other useful information.
2018 also saw JAH selected as one of the 3 Top Electricians in Plymouth by Three Best Rated. The award uses a 50 point inspection, and takes into account things like reviews, reputation, history, complaints, ratings, satisfaction, nearness, trust, cost, general excellence, etc. “This was a real honour and we are absolutely delighted – it makes all our hard work worthwhile,” said Jamie.
JAH launched their first radio ad in 2018 – you may have heard it? Fame, at last!
And they were delighted to become sponsors for Saltash United FC.
Client and Customer Projects in 2018
JAH worked on electrical contracting projects in hospitals, car showrooms, holiday lodges, pubs, churches, care homes, schools and more across the South West… and of course they also worked in many private homes in and around Plympton, Plymouth and across the South Hams and East Cornwall throughout 2018.
“2018 got off to a flying start for our team – with the refurbishment projects for Vospers Ford & Nissan at Marsh Mills, Plymouth. Our work this year has been really diverse – including a pub refurbishment away from home! And a project to convert and refurbish a care home into a high-spec multiple occupancy property, called “Torvale Lodge”. And we were delighted to win new clients throughout the year – including N&C Tiles and Ashleigh Manor Care Home in Plympton – right on our doorstep.”
The team undertook a major project, installing the new fire alarm system at Stoke Damerel Community College. This project needed JAH’s fire alarm team , plus 5 of their other engineers over a 6 week period. And at the end of the summer, JAH started work on the Peninsula Heart Clinic at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth – for MTX. JAH needed to take on additional staff to fulfill this significant project.
MTX requested that JAH assist with another fast track project at A&E at Derriford Hospital, called “ED Minors”. This project needed to be turned around within 12 weeks – quite a challenge, alongside the ongoing work at the Heart Clinic at the hospital! And to really test the team, they were then also asked to complete 2 additional smaller projects – the first on Level 5, which involved converting 1 room into 2 rooms – working to the NHS specification with new power, lighting & fire alarm etc. And the second project required JAH to form a new sluice room, which will enable future works to start on a further project for a new Resus area.
Jamie said, “We have completed the 2 smaller projects & we are on target to hand over the ED Minors project on time. To achieve this, our staff & many additional sub-contractors have had to work around the clock 7 days a week to deliver this for MTX. The Heart Clinic will also be delivered for the 10th January 2019.”
So, what about 2019?
Jamie said, “As you can see, 2018 has been a full-on year. But I think the highlights for me have been that whatever gets thrown at the JAH team, we always manage to deliver! This is down to having an unbelievable team around me, and it is all credit to them that we seem to make the impossible happen. “2019 – well, we have just taken ownership of our new, bigger offices in Plympton – so we will have to see what 2019 brings us… All of the team here at JAH would like to sincerely thank all of our customers, clients and partners for their continued support in 2018 and to wish them all a very Happy Christmas and a healthy, happy and prosperous 2019.”
